Sympathy for the Devil: Art and Rock and Roll Since 1967

In the fall, the Musée will be literally electrified by the exhibition, Sympathy for the Devil: Art and Rock and Roll Since 1967. The Musée will be the only Canadian stop for this exhilarating event.

Paul-Émile Borduas and the Refus Global
July 12, 2008 to January 11, 2009
To mark the sixtieth anniversary of the publication of the Refus Global, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal is exhibiting an original edition of the manifesto, various documents related to Automatism and several works by Paul-Émile Borduas in its Omer DeSerres Gallery until January 11, 2009.

Projections Series: Film and Video Program
January 1 to March 29, 2009
Recent film and video output is rich and diverse. Many artists from a wide variety of backgrounds - video makers, visual artists, photographers, playwrights, choreographers and composers - are drawn to the poetic power of the image projected on the big screen. Projections refers to the energy of a thrust forward, toward the future of the moving image.

Ideas of Landscape/ Landscape of Ideas 2

While landscape is readily recognized as a wellestablished genre within the broader tradition of painting, one that has gone through various stylistic schools and periods, it nevertheless fits in perfectly, in a seemingly natural way, with the different spheres of contemporary art.
