Creative Tuesdays

In surroundings conducive to invention, children and adults alike give free rein to their imaginations and create their own works of art inspired by a work from the Musée Collection, while trying out various techniques, media and materials.
ART WORKSHOPS FOR ALL
Sundays at either 2 p.m. or 3 p.m.
Free for children under 12 (must be accompanied by an adult).
No reservation required.
Just show your Musée admission ticket.
WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOL GROUPS
Tuesday to Friday at 9, 9:30, 10:30 and 11 a.m., and 12:30, 1 and 2 p.m. Cost: Workshop only, $3 per participant. Workshop/tour combination, $4.50 per participant.

ROCKOLLAGES
October 10 to November 30, 2008
The work of the collective assume vivid astro focus, entitled Abravana Cannibal, 2006, and presented in the exhibition Sympathy for the Devil: Art and Rock and Roll Since 1967, will guide participants in creating a novel collage of an invented figure made up of disparate yet harmonious parts.

CYCLES
December 5, 2008 to February 1, 2009
After examining Summer Days and Nights (1960), a work by Joyce Wieland in the exhibition Ideas of Landscape/Landscape of Ideas 2, participants will be asked to produce a simplified landscape on the border between representation and abstraction. They will employ egg-like forms and a few graphic signs to conjure the cycles of nature.

DING GONG!
February 6 to April 5, 2009
Make colours shimmer and vibrate when you take part in the workshop on abstract art inspired by Claude Tousignant’s 1966 Gongs series. Using a roller rather than a brush, create a circular painting that quivers with colour!

EMERGENCE
April 10 to May 17, 2009
This art activity related to a work presented in the Collection exhibition will offer those taking part the chance to create their own original image.

GEO-ORGANI-GIDS
May 22 to June 11, 2009
A plethora of shapes that are simultaneously geometric, organic and rigid will come into being during this abstract painting activity inspired by the works of Thomas Nozkowski.
ART WORKSHOPS: CREATIVE TUESDAYS
On Tuesdays, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Art workshops for adults who want to add some creativity to their Tuesday afternoons. On the day of the activity, come to the museum a little earlier and you can visit the exhibitions free of charge (just show your workshop admission ticket).
Cost: $12 per workshop. Space is limited.

The wide variety of works on display in the exhibition Sympathy for the Devil: Art and Rock and Roll Since 1967 will encourage participants to create highly surprising images.

LANDSCAPES
November 11, 18 and 25, and December 9, 2008 (series)
This series of activities will look at various nontraditional aspects of the notion of landscape. The starting point will be four works presented in the theme-based exhibition Ideas of Landscape/Landscape of Ideas 2.

CHROMATIC RESONANCE
February 10 and 17, and March 10 and 17, 2009 (series)
In these workshops, participants will experiment with various aspects of Claude Tousignant’s pictorial approach. They will no doubt draw on several of his series—Transformateurs chromatiques, Gongs, Accélérateurs chromatiques, Diptyques circulaires—as they set their sights on colour and its many different effects.

DYNAMIC DUO
April 14 and 21, 2009
This pair of activities will prompt participants to create images of their own inspired by works in the Musée Collection.
