Next Nocturne at the Musée d’art contemporain Friday, December 7, 2007 form 5 to 9:00 p.m.
Montréal, November 28, 2007. The best-kept secret in town has been unveiled. The Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal Noctures series is such a hit that the names of future performers will be kept under wraps.
Since June 1, 2007, the Musée opens its doors from 5 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. The basic idea is suspense: live music revealed only on the night of the Nocturne itself; original drinks concocted by Mixoart; works and Projections on view.
Some of the most talented artists of Montréal’s music scene have been featured at the Friday Nocturnes: DJ Champion and his guitar line-up; Blandiloquentia and Guemilere; akido and his musicians; We are Wolves; Martin Tétreault; and The National Parcs. Upcoming performances promise to be just as memorable. After that, there’s no point calling, writing or paying anyone off: you have to show up in person to get the scoop.
The Musée’s capacity for the Nocturnes events is limited to 700 people. The first to arrive will be admitted into the performance space; those arriving later in the evening will have the possibility of watching the show via video as well as visiting all the Musée’s exhibitions in an exclusive, nocturnal atmosphere. First come, first served!
Nocturnes—a different way to visit the museum and connect with today’s art.
Nocturnes Schedule:
5 to 9 p.m.: access to the Musée’s exhibitions featuring ambient sound track and bar service. Education Department staff will be available in the exhibition spaces to answer questions.
7 to 8 p.m.: musical presentation in the performance space, relayed by video to a giant screen outside the room.
Next Nocturnes dates: February 1, March 7, and April 4, 2008.
The Nocturnes series takes a break on January.
